In September, Larian Studios released Patch 7 for Steam players, introducing exciting new features such as fresh cinematics, an in-game mod manager, and additional enhancements as part of their ongoing support for Baldur’s Gate 3. The studio assured players on other platforms that they would receive this content sometime in October. Today, they have fulfilled that promise by launching Patch 7 on Xbox, PlayStation consoles, and macOS.
The standout feature of this update is undoubtedly the in-game mod manager. Although only PC gamers can create modifications using the Baldur’s Gate 3 Toolkit, players on other platforms can now easily download these mods to enhance their gaming experience.
Larian Studios also announced that since the official mod manager’s launch, PC players have downloaded over 15 million mods for their games. This number is expected to surge now that the entire gaming audience has access to the mod manager.
“It’s been a couple of weeks since the PC community first accessed the Baldur’s Gate 3 Modding Toolkit, and they have been crafting a variety of mods,”Larian stated. “Enhance environments with more fire-blasted chaos, customize the user interface for a unique experience, or even explore The Sword Coast with an additional 15 party members.”
Additional highlights from the update include new cinematics tailored for players pursuing evil endings, improvements to Honor Mode combat, and updates for split-screen gameplay. Notably, during couch co-op sessions, the screen will dynamically split or merge depending on the distance between party members. The update also incorporates numerous bug fixes and quality-of-life enhancements.
